CLEARVIEW NURSERY / WEB DESIGN · CATALOG DESIGN · ONGOING CARE
A growing business. A lasting partnership.
Over five years of working with Clearview Nursery—from its website and two visual redesigns to the plant catalog I design for print and share through the site.
Clearview is a wholesale nursery serving landscape professionals. Its website needs to help customers understand the range, plan a plant list and find availability. I’ve worked with the nursery for over five years, updating the website’s look twice and designing the catalog featured on its site.
01 / THE EVOLUTION
A website that grows with the business.
The February 2020 archive provides an earlier reference point: a site centered on availability links, a catalog link, galleries and a social feed. Across two redesigns, the site evolved toward a clearer wholesale message, larger imagery and more direct paths to plant information and ordering.

The updated design separates browsing from ordering. Plant categories help customers explore the range, while availability and ordering have a dedicated path. The nursery’s services and family story give visitors useful context before they get in touch.

03 / THE CATALOG
The same care. On every page.
I also design Clearview’s plant catalog in Adobe InDesign. The publication organizes a large amount of plant information into a reference customers can use while planning their orders. Featured on the nursery’s website as well as in print, it connects the physical and digital sides of the business.
INFORMATION DESIGN
Small symbols. Useful answers.
I created an icon system to communicate plant types and growing needs alongside the catalog entries. A consistent reference key helps readers scan those details and compare plants without repeatedly working through dense descriptions.
HAND-DRAWN CHARACTER
Illustration with a purpose.
Hand-drawn illustrations bring a personal touch to the catalog. Paired with the iconography, plant photography and carefully organized typography, they give a practical wholesale reference a visual character of its own.
FROM PAGE TO REFERENCE
A system that repeats.
The challenge is consistency across many entries: plant names, descriptions, growing information and prices need predictable places. The page structure and reference key carry that system through the publication and into its online edition.
A long-term partnership creates room to improve the website as needs change. The catalog, website content and visual updates are connected pieces of that relationship—an example of how design and ongoing website management can work together.
